Cara Malone

Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Cara Malone brings more than 30 years of experience in public education to the organization. She has held a range of leadership roles, including Principal, Assistant Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Interim Superintendent, and most recently, Chief of Schools.

Throughout her career, Dr. Malone has been dedicated to developing leaders, designing efficient systems, and transforming instructional models to improve outcomes for both students and educators. She has also been a champion for innovative educator pathways, leading her team in the creation of Central Texas’ first registered teacher apprenticeship program—supporting aspiring educators through degree completion, on-the-job training, and successful entry into the teaching profession.

Dr. Malone believes deeply in the transformative power of teacher apprenticeships to attract and sustain exceptional educators, driving lasting impact on student learning.

She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University–Commerce in 2022. Based in Central Texas, she enjoys gardening, writing poetry, and spending time with her family—and occasionally revisits her unique hobby of fire twirling.
