The edwell Apprenticeship Summit:
PREP Pathways to the Classroom
March 26-27, 2026 — Royal Sonesta-Galleria, Houston Texas
The edwell Apprenticeship Summit is a purpose-built convening for district leaders seeking practical, scalable solutions to strengthen their teacher pipeline. Centered on teacher apprenticeships as a high-impact pathway into the classroom, the summit highlights how districts can align apprenticeship models with the new TEA PREP Programs to recruit, prepare, and retain educators from within their own communities.
Designed with district realities in mind, the summit focuses on implementation—not theory. Superintendents, HR leaders, talent and learning teams, and campus administrators will explore how teacher apprenticeships can function as a workforce strategy that supports staffing needs while providing apprentices with paid, job-embedded training, mentorship, and a clear route to certification through TEA-aligned PREP Programs.
Through peer-led sessions, district case studies, and interactive discussions, participants will learn how to:
Design or expand teacher apprenticeship pathways aligned to TEA PREP Programs
Create sustainable, grow-your-own pipelines that improve recruitment and retention
Leverage apprenticeships models to develop future teachers to meet local staffing needs
